GEC-Marconi

GEC-Marconi makes a 4-axis binocular camera platform. Carrying a load of up to 10kg, peak velocities of about 115 degrees/second can be achieved with a resolution of 0.005 degrees (accuracy 0.1 degrees). A slip-ring option is available offering continuous rotation operation.

HelpMate Robotics

Transitions Research Corporation changed its name to HelpMate Robotics Inc. in 1996 to emphasize the HelpMate hospital courier robot. Under the new name, the company maintains its research robotic component products, including the BiSight binocular vision platform, LabMate mobile robot base, and LightRanger optical radar.

The BiSight/UniSight binocular camera platform is available in a 2-axis version (vergence) and a 4-axis version (vergence, pan, tilt). More than a dozen of these platforms are installed in the US and Europe.
